With which issue does a new subscription commence?
Subscriptions commence with the current issue. (If you prefer another arrangement, please email us.) Each new issue becomes the current issue upon publication and remains current until the publication of the next issue.
Back to topWhen should I expect to receive new issues of TOS?
New print issues of TOS are published and initially mailed in early March, June, September, and December (new online versions are available toward the middle of these months). The first issue of a print subscription purchased after the initial mailing of the current issue will be mailed within ten days. Please note that while the postal monopoly claims to deliver periodical mail within ten days, it actually takes up to a month (yet another reason to give your friends, family, and politicians gift subscriptions to TOS).
Back to topWhat should I do if an issue doesn't arrive?
If your print issue does not arrive within a month of its scheduled mailing (see above), either we may have made an error or the postal monopoly may have lost it. Please notify us at service@theobjectivestandard.com and we will send you another copy immediately.
Back to topHow can I change my address, password, or other information?
Login and click the small My Account link toward the right in the navigation bar. On the “My Account” page, you'll see a form containing your stored information. Make your changes, and click “Submit Changes." Please note that the address displayed here is the address to which we ship your print copy of TOS and/or other paper correspondence.
Back to topI forgot my password; what should I do?
Click the "Forgot Your Password?" link on the Login page. On the following page, enter your email address and click "Get Password." Your password will then be emailed to you.
Back to topI forgot the email address with which I registered; what should I do?
Call or email us and we will look it up in our database.
Back to topHow can I get removed from your mailing list?
If you are a TOS customer, you can change your preferences regarding both the mail you receive from TOS and how we use your information by checking or un-checking the relevant boxes on your My Account page. If you are not a customer but are on our mailing list, you can remove yourself from it by entering your email address here and clicking “remove.”
Back to topMy question is not addressed here; what should I do?
You can contact us in a variety of ways, which are detailed on our Contact Us page.
Back to topWeb Matters
Below, we address potential problems that some visitors may experience due to differences in web-browser capabilities. If you encounter a problem or detect a glitch while using our website, please contact our webmaster.
Navigation Problems
If you have trouble seeing and/or using the navigation in the header area of each page, this may be because you have an older browser that cannot display it properly. If so, please use our site map for navigation.
Issues with Site Width
We have designed this site to take advantage of the larger horizontal area at the disposal of most users today. Those with lower screen resolutions may not see site material in the same format as those with higher resolutions, but we have tried to ensure that important site content (e.g., articles) remains within a horizontally limited area, preventing the need for annoying right to left scrolling.
Google AutoFill
Google's AutoFill feature occasionally fails to engage; refreshing your browser will usually engage it.
